Insurance

Whether you own a bricks and mortar home (immovable property) or a mobile home, it is very important to take out adequate insurance policies. This is something that often gets forgotten, or put aside for later, much to the regret of many home owners after something happens. You should always remember to renew your annual insurance policies on time, and keep up any monthly payments that may be due.

Taking out an insurance policy is more important now than ever before. Today’s gloomy economic climate, as well as the naturally changing weather climate means more risks to our homes. There is now an increased risk of homes being burgled as more and more people lose their jobs, and in desperation, some turn to crime. You should have adequate security to your home to protect yourselves from being burgled, but even the highest security still has risks. Don’t trust to luck; make sure that if you are unfortunate to become a victim of home burglary, you will have insurance cover to enable you to claim the money to replace your stolen items. It may never happen to you, but as a victim of home burglary myself I can tell you that the experience is bad enough, but when you have lost everything and do not have the means to replace them, the words that go through your head for a long time are ‘if only’.. If only I had taken out that insurance policy.

We all think we are careful enough that we won’t ever cause a fire in our home. Ok, so you may be extra careful when cooking, using candles etc, but did you ever think about how many home fires start? Many are caused by electrical devices, and often the fault is undetectable until it is too late. Imagine a fire breaking out in your home. You have enough to worry about with getting yourself and your family out of the house and to safety. But what if you then lost your home and all your possessions and you did not take out that insurance policy? It doesn’t bear thinking about really does it.

Each year seems to be seeing more and more weather disasters around the world. With hurricanes, floods, cyclones, bush fires, earthquakes etc, all things that we think won’t happen to us, but actually they can. A natural disaster can be devastating, and homes can be lost in minutes, or whole house contents destroyed. Would you really want to take the risk that it won’t happen to you? We advise you take out that insurance policy now, and then rest assured that if the worst does happen, at least you can make a claim to your insurance provider and have the money to replace your lost items.
